Irregular Time Signatures
Grouping of notes and rests in irregular time signatures. A good foundation in understand time signature will help you to understand this challenging topic.
Tenor Clef
Identification of notes in the Tenor clef, also known as the C clef, and transposition.
Scales and Key Signature
All major and minor keys up to 6 sharps and flats. Simple and compound intervals.
Chords and Inversions
Root, 1st inversion and 2nd inversion forms of tonic, supertonic, subdominant and dominant chords in any key. Chords candances inclusive of perfect, imperfect and plagal.
Terms, Signs and Instruments
Ornaments, Italian terms. General knowledge on other instruments which would be tested.

Who is this course for?
If you are planning to take your Grade 5 theory, you can sign up for this course. You will need to have some basic understanding of music before attending. A good gauge is to be around grade 3-4Â practical for your instrument.
